MSc Leadership - Leeds Metropolitan University
This course is for anyone working in, or towards, a leadership role who wishes to develop themselves both personally and professionally as a leader. Leeds Metropolitan University, working in partnership with Mypeakpotential, have recently launched this new Masters programme in Leadership which will lead to the award of MSc Leadership: Personal & Professional Development (180 credits).Alternatively, students may follow the Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits) or Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits) as shorter target awards.
The aim of the programme is to deliver a modular Masters award that facilitates the development of leadership. This is with a particular focus on the development of emotional intelligence, using a tried and tested performance equation, and outdoor activities as vehicles to learn and practice leadership in a novel but challenging environment. The programme has been designed around the needs of senior professionals and has been recognised by the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland as an ideal programme of study for the surgeon or other senior medical practitioners to develop themselves as a leader.
Mypeakpotential will provide the opportunity for participants to learn about leadership and try out what they learn in an outdoor environment, which is different and away from their professional setting. Internationally renowned leaders in the outdoors will tailor activities to individual needs in terms of leadership development and physical challenge, providing a range of appropriate activities for the least to the most active student.
Whilst the Alpine environment in Bavaria provides an ideal setting away from the student’s professional context, there are no requirements in terms of previous outdoor experience or a particular level of fitness.
